Beavers Winter Beaveree, 5/9 attended and have 4 leaders Winterlude ice sculptures with Cubs Beaver buggies on March 30th with same races Fire station visit in Blackburn Hamlet, March 23 Getting between 6 and 8 beavers to meetings, 12 registered and have lost 2 through the year. Cubs January 31-February 1 is winter camp @ Apple Hill. Linking with Scouts Winter Camping badge Feb 2 Green Star earned by most of the Cubs Feb 7 ice fishing @ Cobden. Cubs making own ice fishing jigs no fish were caught, 10 getting Fishing badge Feb 9 downtown for ice sculptures as part of Winterlude. Picture is already posted in gym. BP week group campfire Feb 20th Venturers Was a low turnout. Weather, other events, advertising all contributed. BP Sunday Feb 22nd Alan Church didnt want to run a BP program, nor was there a colour guard. Youth were disappointed about the lack of flag carrying. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Super Feb 24th Dave Patterson About $380 in profit, which is up. Did run out of sausages and pancake batter, which is better than having too much left over. No major issues, just more things learned: 2 chafing dishes were missing, need more float (change), more backup batter, never stop cooking, cooking sausages in oven (and new ovens) reduced amount of smoke, square tables seating was a nice change. Need to control number of helpers in kitchen to prevent the possibility of issues. Might have to do shifts or have alternate area for games/puzzles for off-shift youth.
