Week 1 (10 Jan 2011):
Two periods of instruction interspersed with a game before the first and second periods.
Period 1.1
a) The meaning of first aid
b) The meaning of medical aid
c) The call for help & emergency scene management
d) The three most important measures you must learn to save a life
e) The recovery position
Period 1.2
a) Demonstrate first aid for a conscious choking casualty.
b) Demonstrate first aid for a severe wound.
c) Show how to care for an unconscious person.
d) Show how to give first aid for a burn or scald.
e) Discuss wild animals and rabies in Canada and what to do if bitten, or if you find an injured animal.
