ODAWA AREA WHITETAIL CAMP 2010

WHO: All Odawa Area White Tails, Leaders, and parent volunteers (Please note this is NOT a family camp. No siblings please, and a maximum of one parent per Beaver. Parents do not have to attend this camp unless it is your Colony’s regular procedure. Remember this is a CUB level camp)

WHERE: Drouin Farm 1230 Route 400, Casselman (see website: http://www.fermedrouin.ca/index.htm)

WHAT: a weekend experience of “Cubbing” for youth and Scouters

WHEN: Friday, April 23rd – Sunday, April 25th, Arrival time: Friday 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm, Pick up time: Sunday 11:00 am

WHY: To instill excitement and enthusiasm for the upcoming Cub year... ...and to have fun, of course!

HOW: Registration accepted until Sunday April 16th.

COST: $30 per Beaver, $25 per Leader/parent volunteer

FACILITIES: Drouin Farm is a working farm, in August they host performances of L’Echo d’un Peuple. We have a Reception Hall with bathrooms, kitchen and eating area plus a large fabric covered shelter (‘barn’) for the main sleeping quarters and indoor games. During scheduled downtime, the attendees can feed the animals in the enclosures or play games in the ‘barn’ or large grassy area.

BEAVER WHITETAIL CAMP KIT LIST

Please ensure that ALL personal items are appropriately labeled.

Duffel bag, hockey bag or knapsack to carry camp kit.
Full Uniform (hat, vest, necker)
Appropriate Seasonal Clothing
- Long Pants or sweats (for evenings)
- Long sleeved shirts / sweat tops
- Changes of underwear
- Extra pairs of socks
- Pyjamas
Appropriate Outerwear
- Jacket
- Hat
- Raincoat
- Mitts or gloves (in case)
- Outdoor footwear (e.g., rubber boots)
- Pair of shoes for wear inside the cabin
- SUNSCREEN!!!
- Bug repellant
Sleeping bag
Pillow (if desired)
Sleeping Buddy
Air mattress or foam
Tarp for under mattress or foam (only if you have one…DO NOT PURCHASE)
Toiletries
- Soap
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Facecloth and towel
Plate, bowl, cup, fork, spoon, knife all contained in a bag (bag with holes for airing out)
Campfire Blanket (if you have one)
Flashlight (and spare batteries)
Smiles

Beavers are not to bring the following:
Snacks, food, candy as some members of the Pack has food allergies (if found they will be taken away)
Electronic devices (CD players, Gameboys, etc.)

Camping Hint: Don't bring anything in green plastic bags - it may be mistaken for garbage and could be thrown out. Use large clear plastic bags or hockey-type bags.
