SCOUT TREES 2011
Dear Parents & Youth;
Imagine your Cub/Scout/Venturer/Rover being able to show their children and grandchildren the trees they planted when they were younger. You don’t get that opportunity too often in an urban setting.
On Saturday, May 7, 2011 we urge you to participate in “Scoutrees”; Scouts Canada’s best known and annual environmental project. 8th Orleans Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, their leaders and parents can join other youth to plant trees. This year’s event takes place at the Lafarge Property on Rockdale Road. There are several acres of land that need to be reforested with about 1,500 trees, so we need all hands on deck. Other groups will be there to plant with us, so watch for me and I will have a triangular flag with our colours on it and the 8th Orleans banner.
All helpers will be rewarded a Scout tree crest. I’ll have my cell if you need to touch base with us at 613-295-8891.
Scouter Joni Boyd
