For those of you who weren't here in past years, this is a fun event where Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Venturers get to plant trees in a designated area.
Here is the handout that I passed out at our last meeting:
SCOUT TREES 2009
Dear Parents and Youth
Imagine your son/daughter being able to show their children and grandchildren the trees they planted when they were younger. You don’t get that opportunity too often in an urban setting.
On Saturday, May 2, 2009 we urge you to participate in “Scoutrees”; Scouts Canada’s best known and annual environmental project. Eighth Orleans beavers, cubs, scouts, venturers, rovers, their leaders and parents can join other scouts and can all plant trees. The event takes place just of Renaud Road (see map attached). There are several acres of land that need to be reforested, so we need all hands available. Other groups will be there to plant with us, so watch for a triangular flag with our colours on it and the 8th Orleans banner.
