The 8th Orleans Beaver Colony is planning to participate in the Odawa year-end camp from June 5th to 7th. We went to this camp last year and it was loads of fun for all who attended. It is well organized and it provides the Beavers with a taste of what is to come when they move up to Cubs.
Parents Meeting:
On May 11th during the Beaver meeting we’ll have a 30 minute meeting with parents; the meeting will start at 6:30 at the church. I will provide you with the details for the camp and answer any questions that you may have.
What we need to know from you is tentative numbers of Beavers who will be attending and who will be accompanying each youth. Please let me know this information via email if you can’t attend the Parents Meeting on May 11th.
Logistics:
Location
- Apple Hill Scout Reserve in Apple Hill (just south of Maxville, ~ 1 hour drive)
Accommodations
- tents (you supply your own, if you don't have a tent let me know and we should be able to borrow an 8th Orleans group tent)
Cost
- Registration is $18 per person (youth or adult or leader) + cost of food (to be determined, but usually around $20 each). The registration fee is due on May 11th, with the food portion to be paid closer to the camp date when we have the budget finalized.
Attendees
- This is a Beaver + Parent event, so a parent or guardian must attend with their Beaver. Health/Waiver forms will be required of Parents/Guardians.
Theme:
The theme of the event is “Survivor”. That’s the TV reality show with a Scouting twist. The program will be age appropriate for the Beavers.
