June 10 - 12, 2016
Youth Leadership Retreat - Survival Camp

Friday 1pm at OUC
- Scouts being picked up by Scouters, then convoy from OUC
Sunday ~1:30pm return to OUC

Location: Depot Lake Conservation Area

http://ontarioconservationareas.ca/component/mtree/conservation-authorities-of-ontario/quinte/depot-lakes-conservation-area
Attendeed: Senior Scouts (current and past PLs/APLs)

The Troop wanted to have a camp away from the Scouters. They tossed in a Survival theme. Youth Leadership (current and past PLs/APLs) are planning the camp, so program, location, handout are all TBD. The senior Scouts have proven their camping and leadership skills, now they'll put it all to the test when the have to plan, shop and pack for their own camp.
Clara is the lead Scout for this camp.

From a Scouter perspective, would like for us to have a car camp and do some fishing while the youth hike into their campsite. Yes, the youth have achieved a level of skills where they could and should camp on their own. This camp demonstrates how much they have learned over their Scouting career and the level of trust the Scouters and their parents have in their capabilities.
