Well how EXCITING is THIS!!!! A NEW Beaver Colony!!! We have lots of great activities, camps, crafts and themes planned so….LET’S GET STARTED!!!!

Our Program and Upcoming Events

15th September 1st meeting Getting to know you
First meeting of the season where the Beavers and Scouters will be getting to know each other through games and crafts.

Unless otherwise stated all our meetings will be at St Dominic’s School from 6:30-7:30. For this meeting we ask that parents arrive by 7:15 so we can have a quick meeting about the upcoming Scouting year.

I will also need our numbers for the Group Wide Camp on Sept 23-25

22nd September: Practicing the Motto, Law and Promise
Tonight we will really begin to learn the Beaver Motto, Law and Promise. We will play a game or two...(Beaver Soup is a favourite!) and will be making nametags. All money will be due for camp as well

23rd September: Dinosaur Camp
This year our Group Wide Camp is a “Dinosaur Story” The location is Camp Opimekon in Perth Ont….More details at the first meeting

29th September: Investiture and Tail Ceremony
This is when all our new Beavers, (kits) and Scouters officially become active members of the Colony. Parents are encouraged to come out and participate with their children, take photos and share in some refreshments following the ceremony. Beavers should know their Law, Motto, and Promise.

6th Oct Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all we are thankful for. The Beavers will be making a craft and who knows…Maybe have a little “Turkey Fun!”

13th October– Canadian Path
Scouts Canada has introduced a new and exciting program that we will be introducing to the Beavers

20th October: Hike
We will meet at the School and go for a Scavenger Hike. Please dress appropriately and don't forget a flashlight!

27th October...Halloween Party
Our Colony will be having a dress up Halloween party. All are encouraged to dress up for this event. This will be a spooky evening of games and surprises. The Colony will be providing drinks at the end of the evening and we would like help from the parents for the treats. I will send out a reminder a little closer to the party

3rd November …. Pokémon
Pokémon fever has hit our Colony, so if you “can’t beat them, join them” We will spend the entire evening making our own Pokémon, playing some related games and most of all….having FUN!

10th November …Visit to War Museum
We will be guests at the Museum and will be visiting several areas.
Full UNIFORM is required and best behavior is a must

17th November….Beavers Choice
In keeping with the New Canadian Path which aims to have more youth lead programming the Beaver’s will have picked the theme for tonight’s meeting

24th November NO MEETING
We will NOT be having a meeting this Thursday night since we are having a sleepover tomorrow !!!!


25th -26th November: Drive In Movie Night Sleepover at Orleans United Church
We will be making cars, then “Driving” them to the movies for a fun filled night of popcorn and shows. Breakfast will be served on Sat morning before we all head home. More info will come in early Nov
