Scouts, parents, and families! Come join us to celebrate the founding of Scouts at our Baden Powell Banquet. A pot luck dinner will be held at Orleans United Church followed by the Annual General Meeting for the 8th Orleans Group.

Time: Arrive by 6 Pm and join us in the sanctuary for openings and grace. The event goes until approximately 8 PM. An AGM will also be held and it will be short and sweet. See the report attached below. Also there will be lots of photos of youth.

Food: Bring a hearty dish to share (3x what you would prepare for your family). Store bought is OK too. We even need rolls and butter! Group Committee will provide beverages. Also bring plates, glasses and cutlery for your family, or be prepared to clean up and wash dishes in the kitchen. Youth will wear their full dress uniforms (green shirts and tan pants with necker).

Did you know that Lord Robert Baden Powell was born on February 22nd, 1857 and came up with the idea of Scouts at the turn of the last century? Today we're part of the World Organization of Scouting of over 30 million Scouts!

Did you also know that his wife, Olave, Lady Baden-Powell, and Baden Powell's sister Agnes, also started Girl Guides? There are now 10 million girls in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
