First Aid - part 2

Week 2 (17 Jan 2011):
A round-robin main session with a game before and after.

Station #1
a) Show how to give first aid for a wound that is bleeding.
b) Show how to stop a nose bleed.
c) Show what to do if your clothes or another person’s clothes catch fire.

Station #2
a) Describe the signs of frost-bite and how to treat it.
b) Describe what to do if an insect or animal bites you or another person.
c) Explain how to prevent and treat hypothermia and overheating.

Station #3
a) Making slings with neckers.
b) Splint a broken wrist, arm, leg.
c) Show cubs how to make a “makeshift” stretcher by putting poles through the arms of coats.
