2014/02/10 - regular meeting - camp prep
Posted: Tue Aug 06, 2013 3:20 pm
February 10, 2014
Location: OUC
7-9pm
Planning for a Winter Camp is critical for your comfort. Having a high protein and carb menu will assist in keeping the internal furnace going. Proper layered clothing will help keep the heat where it is needed. Designs for shelters will be discussed to there is a game plan well before the campsite is selected.
- Payment of $45 is due for the Winter Camp. We'll use the number who pay for determining the equipment we have to rent from DND.
- bring a cleaned/washed milk bag. That's the clear one that the milk is in. Even if you're not going to camp, bring a milk bag to get your sample.
We'll be preparing the boil-in-bag meal (stew), separating the food by patrol, checking equipment and learning how to light cold stoves.
